Hverjir nýta sér íþróttasálfræði?

Flestir eru sammála um mikilvægi hugrænna þátta í frammistöðu og þess vegna er markviss íþróttasálfræðiþjálfun orðin hluti af þjálfunaraðferðum afreksíþróttafólks. Íþróttasálfræðiþjálfun er fyrir alla þá sem vilja auka ánægju af íþróttaiðkun, bæta frammistöðu og andlega líðan sem tengist íþróttaiðkun og æfa á markvissari hátt. Ástæður þess að íþróttafólk nýtir sér íþróttasálfræði geta verið margvíslegar og ekki endilega tengdar vandamálum, heldur til að hámarka eigin frammistöðu og ánægju.
